Prisoners Transferred into Guantánamo (DoD Documents)
According to nine Department of Defense documents, 779 individuals have been transferred to Guantanamo. The first of these documents was released on 19 April 2006, and provided 558 names. It was quickly superseded, on 15 May 2006, by a more comprehensive list of 759 names (these lists, however, are not entirely consistent with each other). A third list was issued on 6 September 2006 and disclosed 14 additional names. The other documents are six press releases issued in 2007 and 2008. They provided 1 new name each. These documents contain all the names of Guantánamo prisoners that have been publicly released by the United States Government. You may view these documents here:
